Anas ouazri - chess

Mr. Anas Ouazri is an international chess champion. With over 2 decades of experience playing chess, including victories in multiple local, regional, national, and continental championships, Mr. Anas brings a wealth of expertise to the realm of chess coaching. For the past decade, he guided students of varying ages and skill levels to improve, compete, and win in regional and national tournaments.

Coach Anas’s chess journey started at the age of 3 when he discovered the chess board. Full of curiosity, he learned the basics and started challenging every member of the family. Tasting his first defeat against his parents and brothers, he was determined to win. Each game became a lesson, each defeat a chance to learn and grow. After learning about his parents’ chess gameplay and their tendencies to repeat certain patterns, he finally managed to get his first win. Excited and happy, he set a new quest to himself to defeat each family member. Despite his best efforts, his older brother remained undefeated. In an attempt to bridge the gap, he dedicated each Sunday to analyzing games of past world champions, trying to improve his gameplay. As the years passed, his passion and chess skills grew. Then one glorious day, it happened – He finally defeated his older brother! Later he went on to become the national junior chess champion, as well as the continental amateur chess champion.

In addition to his expertise as a player, coach Anas has actively contributed to fostering chess communities. As the founder of the university chess club and a dedicated mentor in local chess clubs, he has cultivated a passion for the game among both children and adults, promoting intellectual growth within the community.

Coach Anas highlights the benefits of chess in his own life. Earning a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology & mathematics and a master’s degree in Big Data, he found that the skills he learned in chess carried well into his academic life. Through sharpening concentration, refining calculation skills, and instilling a sense of accountability and strategic thinking, chess has become a profound catalyst for personal and academic growth.

As a chess coach, he is passionate about fostering a genuine love for the game among his students, guiding them to thrive and unlock their hidden potential, and accelerating their growth both on and off the chess board.
