SPANISH LANGUAGE LEVELS

  • CEFR stands for Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which is a set of language learning and assessment standards recommended by the European Commission. It covers all major European languages, including Spanish.

  • The CEFR levels for Spanish are divided into six levels, from beginner A1 to advanced C2. Each level has clear language skill descriptors, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. These descriptors can help students and teachers understand the language skills and abilities they should have, and can be used for evaluating and certifying language proficiency.

  • In the Spanish CEFR standard, A1 and A2 levels are suitable for beginners, B1 and B2 levels are suitable for intermediate learners, while C1 and C2 levels are suitable for advanced learners. Students can demonstrate their language proficiency at a certain CEFR level by taking an exam.
